CTOnews.com December 6 news, California-based stratospheric launch system (Stratolaunch) recently issued a press release, announced that its "Roc" carrier aircraft completed the 12th test flight, and carried and tested Talon-A supersonic aircraft during the test flight.

CTOnews.com Note: Stratolaunch announced its plan to put a large aircraft into orbit in 2011 and did not develop it until 2017, making it the largest aircraft in the world.

Stratolaunch revised its original design in 2021 to announce the design of a reusable hypersonic aircraft.

In this test flight, the Talon-A supersonic aircraft entered the air with the Roc carrier aircraft, flew at a speed of more than Mach 5 after release, and then landed on the conventional runway.

The TA-0 beta, launched in 2022, has no rocket power, but is designed to validate the release system. Later that year, it was integrated into the middle wing of the Roc and made its first carry-on flight. Earlier this year, tests at the western shooting range of Vandenberg Air Force Base were successfully completed.

Now, the first power test vehicle has made the company's 12th flight aboard the Roc aircraft, and the TA-1 aircraft has been in the air for more than three hours with live propellant, gathering key data for the upcoming hypersonic Talon's first power flight.
