According to reports, the 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project of Kubuqi in Mengxi Base is one of the first large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects started by the state during the 14th five-year Plan period, and it is also the largest single photovoltaic project connected to the grid in China.

The project is located in the hinterland of Kubuqi Desert, Hangjin Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, with a total planned installed capacity of 2000 MW and a total area of 87212.62 mu, including 59209.18 mu of Ⅰ section and 28002.44 mu of Ⅱ section.

CTOnews.com learned from the announcement that China Energy Jiangsu Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. is responsible for the procurement of all equipment except components, brackets and No. 2 energy storage equipment in the Ⅰ tender and all the construction and installation of photovoltaic power stations. The II section of the general contract of Hubei Engineering Company of China Electric Power Construction includes boosting energy storage station project, AC side capacity 800MW photovoltaic project, integrated management and operation exhibition center project, 2 million kilowatt sand control and ecological restoration project, etc.

The project adopts various forms of photovoltaic support design, and for the first time in the national desert management to achieve the "one place, three uses" treatment mode, through double glass components to achieve double-sided power generation on the board, can increase power generation by 5% Mi 10%; under the board to plant high-quality forage grass and medicinal herbs and other crops to achieve three-dimensional ecological planting; between the boards to use the "livestock, poultry and grass coupling" sand control technology of raising chickens before raising sheep.

According to reports, this treatment model can not only protect against the wind, absorb light, and reduce land temperature, but also reduce soil moisture evaporation and increase soil moisture accumulation. to achieve the "photovoltaic +" multiple benefits of "power generation on board, planting under board, cultivation between boards, sand control and soil improvement, and rural revitalization", so that "green" and "rich" can be unified.

China Energy Construction said that after the completion of the project, 100000 mu of desert can be repaired and harnessed, with an average annual supply of green electricity of about 4 billion kilowatt hours, an average annual reduction of about 2 million tons of sediment transport to the Yellow River, an annual saving of 1.25 million tons of standard coal, and a reduction of 3.41 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. it will inject new kinetic energy into the green and low-carbon development of Inner Mongolia and effectively build important ecological security barriers in northern China and the Yellow River basin.
