CTOnews.com, 4 December, according to a CCTV military report, 12:10 on 4 December, China successfully launched the Egyptian-2 satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center by using a long March 2C carrier rocket. The satellite entered the scheduled orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success. The mission also launched two satellites, Star An and Star B, of the second group of Star Pool 1.

According to reports, the Egyptian-2 satellite is mainly used for the general survey of land and resources in Egypt to meet the needs of Egyptian users in the fields of agriculture, forestry, urban construction, environment and disaster monitoring. The two satellites launched are mainly used to provide commercial remote sensing services for users.

According to the agreement between China and Egypt to aid the Egypt-2 satellite project, the Chinese side will develop and launch a small optical remote sensing satellite with a resolution of 2 m (panchromatic) / 8 m (multi-spectral) for Egypt; the satellite will be assembled and tested by the satellite assembly integrated test center built with the assistance of the Chinese government; after delivery in orbit, it will serve Egypt's land and resources utilization, water conservancy, agriculture and other fields.

The Egyptian-2 satellite project is a landmark project to carry out in-depth international cooperation in the field of aerospace high-tech with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, the National Agency for International Development Cooperation, the National Space Administration and other units. it is also the first international cooperation satellite project to adopt a complete project management model of foreign aid, which is of landmark significance in the field of space cooperation between China and Egypt. In the process of joint satellite development, the Chinese side conducted training on the whole satellite system-level design and final assembly testing operation for Egyptian technicians, who deeply participated in the whole process of satellite design, development and testing. Through the cooperation of this project, Egypt's industrial system has been further improved, including the development of "upstream" satellites, the construction and operation of "mid-stream" ground facilities, and the processing, sharing and application of "downstream" satellite data. it has laid the foundation for deepening the follow-up cooperation in the aerospace field between China and Egypt.
