CTOnews.com, December 3 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Amazon's cloud service Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced at the re:Invent Global Conference that BYD has chosen AWS as the preferred cloud provider (overseas) for its connected car platform. AWS will provide a "scalable, reliable and secure foundation" for BYD's core operations, including storing vehicle system data.

CTOnews.com noted that BYD has built a networked vehicle architecture using Amazon EKS and the content distribution network service Amazon CloudFront, which can automatically deploy new features and applications, including the latest in-vehicle navigation and infotainment services, to provide a high-performance, interactive real-time in-car experience.

By running its networked vehicle platform on AWS, BYD provides automatic updates to improve vehicle safety, operation, maintenance efficiency and the overall driving experience. Owners can monitor the status of the vehicle through the App, including battery power and mileage, remotely lock and unlock doors and windows, and locate the vehicle in the parking lot.

BYD also uses Amazon to provide an in-car audio experience, and its online vehicles in Europe are now equipped with Amazon Music (standard for new cars) to provide high-quality music streaming.
