In addition, Texas Instruments' product portfolio meets the growing demand for efficient compact designs in industrial systems such as power tools and server auxiliary power supplies. "

The new GaN FET portfolio with integrated gate drivers includes LMG3622, LMG3624 and LMG3626, providing integrated current detection. Compared with traditional current detection circuits using discrete GaN and silicon FET, due to the integrated current detection function, there is no need to connect external shunt resistors, and the related power loss can be reduced by up to 94%, helping designers to greatly improve their efficiency.

According to reports, the TI GaN FET with integrated gate driver can achieve faster switching speed and help prevent the adapter from overheating. It also supports designers to increase the system efficiency of AC / DC applications less than 75W to 94% and AC / DC applications greater than 75W to more than 95%. Compared to silicon-based solutions, the new devices help designers reduce the size of a typical 67W power adapter solution by up to 50%.

The portfolio is also optimized for topologies common in AC / DC power conversion, such as quasi-resonant flyback, asymmetric half-bridge flyback, inductance-inductance converter, totem pole power factor correction and active clamp flyback.

CTOnews.com inquiry found that the official website of Texas Instruments now provides mass-production LMG3622 and LMG3626 devices and pre-production LMG3624 devices. The device is packaged with 8mm x 5.3mm and 38-pin Quad Flat No-lead. In addition, Texas Instruments also provides pin-pair pin devices LMG3612 and LMG3616 without integrated current detection.
