It has been reported that TSMC will resume the price discount of about 2 per cent for some mature processes next year.

It is reported that the utilization rate of TSMC's 7nm production capacity is relatively low, and its revenue share fell to 17% in the third quarter of this year, significantly lower than the 23% in the second quarter of this year and 26% in the second quarter of last year.

CTOnews.com noted that Wei Zhijia, president of TSMC, said earlier that the decline in 7nm capacity utilization did exceed the company's expectations and attributed the decline to a sharp drop in shipments in the mobile phone market and delays in product launches by major customers. However, TSMC believes demand for special processes such as consumer electronics will rebound in the coming years.
