CTOnews.com, November 30, according to the National Energy Administration, the National Energy Administration has anchored the carbon peak carbon neutralization target and adopted various measures to promote the high-quality development of renewable energy. After breaking through 1.3 billion kilowatts in June this year, the installed scale of renewable energy power generation in China reached a new high, breaking through 1.4 billion kilowatts by the end of October, reaching 1.404 billion kilowatts, an increase of 20.8 percent over the same period last year, accounting for about 49.9 percent of the total installed power generation in the country. Including 420 million kilowatts of hydropower (370 million kilowatts of conventional hydropower and 5004 kilowatts of pumped storage), 404 million kilowatts of wind power, 536 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation and 44 million kilowatts of biomass power generation.

According to the National Energy Administration, the national installed capacity of renewable energy power generation is expected to exceed 1.45 billion kilowatts by the end of the year, and the installed capacity of wind power photovoltaic power generation will exceed 1 billion kilowatts.

CTOnews.com learned from official statistics that from January to October this year, the installed capacity of renewable energy generation across the country increased by 191 million kilowatts, an increase of nearly 100 million kilowatts over the same period last year, an increase of 90.8 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 76.4 percent of the new installed capacity in the country. Of this total, hydropower increased by 8.44 million kilowatts, wind power by 37.31 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation by 142 million kilowatts and biomass power generation by 2.3 million kilowatts. It is estimated that the new installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power generation in China will exceed 200 million kilowatts in 2023.

From January to October this year, the national renewable energy generation reached 2.33 trillion kilowatt hours, accounting for 31.8 percent of the country's total, including hydropower 980.5 billion kilowatt hours, wind power 696.8 billion kilowatt hours, photovoltaic 489.8 billion kilowatt hours and biomass 164 billion kilowatt hours. It is estimated that the electricity generated by renewable energy in China will reach 3 trillion kilowatt hours in the whole year, accounting for about 1 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity consumption in the whole society.
