In order to standardize the order of the platform, protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, and build a more real and better community ecology, according to the "provisions on Ecological Governance of Network Information content", the "Douyin Community self-discipline Convention" and other relevant laws, regulations and platform rules, issued the "Douyin Matrix misconduct Governance rules".

The platform will strictly deal with the use of illegal tools and equipment such as group control tools and illegal scripts, or publish illegal and low-quality content by technical means and in the form of multiple accounts, so as to disrupt the order of the platform. Including, but not limited to, the following:

1. The behavior of a large number of single or multiple accounts publishing low-quality content in batches to squeeze the traffic of high-quality authors.

2. Brushing powder, likes and reviews create false interactive data and mislead users.

3. Excessively harass others and induce other users to pay attention to them by means of high-frequency attention, like, @, etc.

4. Use the "secondary account" to implement the illegal behavior to drain the "main account", and register the new account to violate the rules continuously after the "secondary account" is punished, in an attempt to evade the rules of the platform.

For users who violate the above rules, the platform will take measures such as deleting, blocking, and restricting the dissemination of the illegal content, and will also take measures such as erasing illegal fans, restricting or prohibiting being followed, suspending or permanently closing the profit permission of the account, restricting the dissemination of the content of the account, banning or blocking the illegal account, and so on.

If the account publishes a large number of low-quality, worthless, homogenized content, the platform will be dealt with severely. For violations committed by the linkage of multiple accounts, measures will be taken to deal with the relevant accounts.

CTOnews.com noted that the above rules have been put into trial operation and will be officially released and implemented on December 1, 2023.

According to the 21st Century Business report, Douyin has strictly dealt with multiple accounts or matrix accounts with more than one million followers in accordance with the new rules, removed illegal MCN institutions, and cooperated with public security organs to crack down on criminal gangs, arresting 157suspects.
