CTOnews.com, November 30 (Xinhua)-- Apple is continuing its annual tradition of donating a portion of all Apple Pay sales to the RED Foundation during the holiday shopping season (November 28 to December 8).

CTOnews.com Note: the (RED) Foundation, also known as Product Red, was founded by U2 lead singer Bono and Debt AIDS Trade in Africa's Bobby Shriver to raise money for the global fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. RED mainly teamed up with a number of companies to allow partners to produce trademark products with "Product Red" and generate revenue from these products, and 1 per cent of the partners' profits will be donated to the foundation.

It is reported that Apple said on its website: "from November 28 to December 8, every time customers use Apple Pay on Apple's website, Apple Store app or offline Apple Store to make a purchase, Apple will donate $1 (currently about 7.14 yuan) to the (RED) global fund."

Apple also claims that the donation will be limited to a maximum of $1 million (CTOnews.com Note: about 7.14 million yuan), which will be used to fight AIDS and fund key health projects related to "saving lives."
