Shulou(Shulou.com)12/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com November 29, Ericsson recently issued a press release specifically for 5G Advanced network devices, based on Intel 4 (7nm) process, designed and launched a new wireless access network (RAN) computing chip.
It is worth noting that Intel plans to launch its first Meteor Lake processor using Intel 4 technology on December 14, which means that Ericsson launched Intel 4 technology earlier than Intel officials.
Ericsson has launched four products, including RAN processor 6672 and Radio processor 6372 for indoor networks, and RAN processor 6655 and Radio processor 6355 for outdoor networks.
Michael Begley, head of Ericsson RAN Compute, said:
Our newly expanded RAN computing portfolio is designed to meet the current and future needs of Ericsson customers. This not only meets their need to maximize radio spectrum efficiency, but also helps them to meet the future needs of their networks by supporting the Open RAN architecture.
Compared to the previous generation, the Ericsson RAN 6672 and 6372 wireless processors have four times the capacity and twice the energy efficiency of the previous generation, supporting up to six 4G and 5G modes in a single package.
Ericsson's new computer products consume 30 to 60 per cent less power than current industry leaders, and the company has released new high-speed communicators at 4.8Tbit / s.
CTOnews.com reported in October that Intel has begun mass production of Intel 4 process nodes using extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV) technology. Officials say Intel is promoting the "four-year five process nodes" program with strong execution and will be used in a new generation of leading products.
Intel 4 is Intel's first process node to adopt EUV technology, achieving "significant improvements" in performance, energy efficiency and transistor density. EUV technology will drive the most computing-intensive applications such as AI, advanced mobile networks, autopilot and new data centers and cloud applications.
