CTOnews.com, November 29 (Xinhua)-- according to game media IGN, CD Projekt RED has deployed staff, and nearly 50% of its development staff are jumping on the "wizard 4" game codenamed Polaris.

CD Projekt Red's latest earnings report shows that as of October 31, 2023, nearly 330 developers, or about 50 per cent of their developers, were working on a much-anticipated sequel.

Adam Kici Adam Kici ski, CEO of CD Projekt RED, also confirmed that the company expects more than 400 developers to be involved in Polaris development by mid-2024.

The team members responsible for developing the Polaris project reached 260 on July 31 this year, accounting for more than 1/3 of the total CD Projekt Red. However, after the release of the "Cyberpunk 2077: shadow of the past" expansion, CD Projekt recruited staff to put more staffing on the "Wizard 4" game.

CTOnews.com also learned from the earnings report that CD Projekt will also mobilize 25% of its developers to bring in the Polaris development team from Cyberpunk 2077: shadow of the past, as well as the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion.

Just because there are so many developer transfers doesn't mean the wizard 4 game is coming. Adam Kici Adam Kici ski, CEO of CD Projekt Red, said in October 2022 that the Polaris project would take at least three years, during which time the studio would have to develop new technologies in Unreal engine 5, in addition to creating new games.
