On November 25, 2023, the 6th SD-WAN & SASE Conference and Cloud Network Conference was successfully held in Beijing, under the guidance of China Communications Society, sponsored by the Information and Communication Network Technology Committee of China Communications Society, Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Research Institute, and co-sponsored by SDNLAB community.

With the theme of "secure Convergence connection", the conference set up a main forum and three sub-forums, and invited more than 30 industry leaders and industry experts to discuss in depth the best practices of SD-WAN, SASE and cloud networks in business innovation and network architecture upgrading.

At the beginning of the summit, Liu Yunjie, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Research Institute, delivered an opening speech. Academician Liu pointed out that with digital technology leading a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial revolution, the Internet technology system is accelerating the transformation from "best effort" of consumer Internet to "ensuring what is needed" of industrial Internet. Network innovation technologies such as SD-WAN, cloud network, and deterministic network will further empower the real economy and play an important role in artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, and so on. At present, deterministic network has opened services in 38 cities across the country, and built the first domestic computing network based on deterministic + RDMA, which lays an important foundation for the development of our country's computing network. Academician Liu said that it is expected that the conference can further strengthen cooperation among all parties and form an ecology of win-win innovation.

Subsequently, Ouyangwu, deputy secretary-general of the China Communications Association (at the bureau level), delivered a speech at the conference and put forward three viewpoints. First, emphasize technological R & D and innovation. Big names gather together to discuss the trend of industry

In the keynote speech, Zhao Huiling, chairman of the CCSA TC3 Technical working Committee and the standing Committee of the Information and Communication Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, shared with you the progress of hot technologies and industry standards such as computing networks. Zhao Huiling pointed out that the computing network is a hot spot in the future. Facing the new opportunities in the computing era, the three major operators have respectively put forward strategic plans for technological development. In the future, AI intelligent computing and the network will gradually achieve deep integration, and will eventually move towards the integration of the computing network. Subsequently, Zhao Huiling shared the progress of CCSA TC3's work on industry standards such as SD-WAN, cloud convergence and computing networks. At present, the technical standard of domestic computing network has been gradually systematized. In the future, facing the era of AI intelligent computing, we need to use network to force computing and network to promote computing. AI can only build a data center network, and build an ultra-wide, high-elastic, high-throughput intelligent wide area network.

Ao Xiangqiao, general manager of the intelligent management and operation and maintenance product line of Xinhua third Group, said that the technology development of the entire SD-WAN has gone through nearly 10 years this year, and after the bubble speculation period, it has now entered the stage of real large-scale landing in various industries, and SD-WAN has become an important link in the infrastructure of enterprise digital transformation. Xinhua three AD-WAN software architecture is a future-oriented and long-term architecture, with a core focus on intelligent connectivity and network quality optimization. In terms of intelligent connection, bandwidth and speed are guaranteed by QUIC, flexible and reliable choreography is provided by SRv6, and deterministic delay and response are provided; in terms of network optimization, high-performance data compression is used to greatly improve network bandwidth utilization, digital maps enable refinement, and AIGC helps to realize network self-intelligence. In the future, Xinhua San will put more emphasis on how to do these two aspects well. I believe that based on Yunzhi's native SD-WAN software architecture, SD-WAN technology will be extended to a new level of self-intelligent network.

Sun Chenghao, senior director of Ali Yunyun network product line, said that the cloud network has achieved more applications after three major stages of development, but at the same time it is becoming more and more complex. Back to the beginning, Aliyun aims to build an easy-to-use intelligent cloud network. So how to make it easy to use? Sun Chenghao divides it into six parts: stability, security, performance, adaptive elasticity, deep observability, and comprehensive self-service. in terms of deployment, it includes supporting the stable operation of the business, omni-directional cloud network security, the pursuit of inclusive extreme performance, adaptive elasticity for any application load, and continuous optimization of customer network architecture based on deep observable customs. finally, the degree of customer self-service is the key to measure the ease of use of the product. Since 2017, Aliyun Network has a vision of making the network easier, and it is also working around the goal of making the network simpler, and will continue to build a more easy-to-use network in the future. so that users are not aware of the existence of this cloud network when using the network.

The wing interconnected SD-WAN management platform is a multi-dimensional management platform for operators + technical services + installation and maintenance services + enterprise customers. Relying on China Telecom's high-quality network resources and Tianyi cloud resources, SDN, security encryption, network virtualization and other technologies are applied to wide area network scenarios to provide flexible, secure and reliable cloud network services for customers' cloud, cloud and networking needs. Yao Jun, general manager of Mobile Cloud Network Product Department, first reviewed four major problems in the development of cloud networks: first, performance bottlenecks, traditional gateways are easy to encounter scalability and other performance problems; second, security issues. Cloud network faces more security attacks in function; third, the function iteration is slow, and the overall iteration cycle is relatively long; fourth, the degree of autonomy is enhanced, and cloud gateway products need to be fully developed independently. In this process, according to the different application scenarios of cloud network, mobile cloud has developed a programmable hardware gateway based on unified SONIC open source network operating system and white-box switch of Tofino chip, which will continue to evolve iteratively around decoupling, open, universal, easy-to-use and other directions.
