Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens and soft media users for 1520111 clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Nov. 28, Businessinsider reported that Broadcom laid off some of its employees after completing its acquisition of VMware.

Some VMware employees received an email on Monday saying that their positions would be cancelled after Broadcom announced last week that the acquisition of the company was over.

Broadcom recently completed its acquisition of VMware. As part of the integration plan, and after the organizational needs assessment, we identified the staff needed within the company after the merger. We regret to inform you that your position will be cancelled and your employment relationship will be terminated.

Broadcom announced its intention to buy VMWare in May 2022 at a price of $142.50 a share, totaling about $61 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 436.76 billion yuan).

Shortly after obtaining regulatory approvals from the US, UK and China, the company completed the deal on November 22 this year. However, Broadcom will take on $8 billion of VMware's net debt (currently about 57.28 billion yuan).

It is not clear exactly how many employees will be affected by the layoffs. Broadcom didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
