The deep-middle tunnel integrates "bridge, island, tunnel and underwater interconnection". The undersea tunnel is 6845 meters long and the immersed tube section is 5035 meters long, which is composed of 32 pipe sections and 1 final joint. it is the world's first two-way eight-lane steel shell concrete immersed tube tunnel with a design speed of 100km / h. At the same time, it is also the longest and widest steel shell concrete immersed tube tunnel in the world.

The part of the bridge is about 17 kilometers, and the bridge deck is in the form of two-way eight lanes, starting from Hezhou Interchange in Baoan District, Shenzhen City in the east and Hengmen Hub in Zhongshan City in the west. After the completion of the project, there will be direct cross-river access from Zhongshan to Shenzhen, and the drive will be reduced from two hours to half an hour, effectively promoting cross-strait traffic and economic development.

The Shenzhen-Middle Corridor adopts the scheme of West Bridge and East Tunnel, which crosses three main waterways in Lingdingyang, and the western section near Zhongshan is dominated by bridges. The bridge with a total length of 17.2 km is Zhongshan Bridge, West African Navigation Bridge, Lingdingyang Bridge and East Africa Navigation Bridge from west to east.

According to CTOnews.com 's previous report, in June this year, the final joint of the Shenzhen-Middle Corridor Cross-Harbour Tunnel was successfully launched, achieving accurate docking with the E24 pipe section on the east side. At that time, exactly five years after the construction of the immersed tube steel shell test section of the subsea tunnel began in April 2018, the "undersea Great Wall" finally closed, and Shenzhen and Zhongshan realized "hand in hand" at the bottom of Lingdingyang.

The Shenzhen-China Corridor plans to complete the full-line steel bridge deck pavement of the Shenzhen-Middle Corridor early next year, creating conditions for completion and opening to traffic in 2024.
