CTOnews.com previously reported that Xiaomi's first model appeared in the announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on November 15. It is an all-electric car with a smooth slip-back design and a unique headlight set and silver millet logo on the front.

In the rear part, the model uses a penetrating taillight group, the lampshade is transparent, and the rear bumper is decorated with the same color as the car body, so the overall style is more athletic. There are also "xiaomi", "Beijing Xiaomi" and "SU7" logos on the body, and it is speculated that the model may be named "Beijing Xiaomi SU7".

In addition to the regular version, Xiaomi also has a four-wheel-drive version with a lidar on the roof and is expected to support advanced self-driving. Both models are produced by Beijing Automobile Group off-road vehicle Co., Ltd. (BAIC off-road vehicle for short), but the production base is built by Xiaomi Automobile and is located at No. 21 Huanjing Road, Beijing Economic and technological Development Zone.

The construction of the Xiaomi automobile plant is divided into two phases. The first phase covers an area of 720000 square meters and has an annual production capacity of 150000 vehicles, which will be completed in June 2023. The second phase is scheduled to start in 2024 and be completed in 2025.

With regard to the price of Xiaomi's first model, Guo Mingyi, a well-known analyst, has given his own forecast that Xiaomi will sell between 50, 000 and 60, 000 cars at a price of less than 300000 yuan.

Guo Mingyi also said that as sales of the new M7 exceeded expectations, the competition for new energy vehicles in China had shifted from hardware to software, self-driving, marketing and channels, which was good for Xiaomi. He said that Xiaomi cars will be self-driving, software ecology, 800 volt fast charging and power configuration as the main selling points.
