CTOnews.com November 26 news, in April this year, Sony (China) Co., Ltd. and Epic Games launched a new virtual production tool suite, including camera and display virtual production plug-ins and virtual production color calibration tools, to optimize the film production process, improve creative efficiency.

After more than half a year of testing, Sony Virtual Production Tool Suite has been officially launched on Sony's official website for users to download this week, and the first version of the official version is free to use.

CTOnews.com Note: This new toolset for Sony VENICE, Crystal LED and other HDR-enabled LED products claims to improve performance and help solve common virtual production challenges such as color matching and moire to enhance visual effects.

Take Camera and Display Plugin as an example. This is a plug-in for Unreal Engine. It can help production teams find and solve common problems in virtual production workflow. It can also display corresponding moiré alarms according to the dot spacing and other characteristics of LED display screen, helping production teams adjust camera position and camera movement during pre-production to save setup time on shooting site.

Another Color Calibrator is a color correction tool that corrects colors for virtual production before shooting, making shooting more efficient, less post-production work, adjusting LED colors in advance, and saving shooting time.
