What I like most in autumn is the golden leaves, but when shooting fallen leaves and woods, I often encounter the trouble that the autumn leaves are not yellow enough.

And a large area of the forest is still green, there is no feeling of autumn. Some leaves are half yellow and half green, and the sense of atmosphere is not strong enough. There are also some leaves that fall off before they turn yellow.

It can be seen that shooting large golden leaves is not so simple.

In this tutorial, we will share with you some tips on how to change green to yellow in PS.

(1) Channel Mixer We can use the Channel Mixer function in ps to turn green leaves into yellow leaves. This step is extremely simple, and the adjustment effect is relatively natural.

After opening the photo, select "Image"-"adjust"-"Channel Mixer" and make the adjustment as shown in the figure. Select the "red" channel, increase or decrease the green value by about 100,200, and then lower the red and blue values. At this time, the green leaves become yellow leaves.

Increase the value of green to make the green in the photo turn yellow. But there is also a serious color bias in the whole picture, and we can fix this color deviation by reducing the values of red and blue. When adjusting, stare at the photo and try again and again until the most satisfactory result is achieved.

The principle is that yellow is equal to green plus red, and what we do is add red to the green of the green leaves.

(2) the HSL hue tool can be used on the computer with the [HSL] tool or the [hue saturation] tool, and on the mobile phone, the [HSL] tool in the "spiteful retouching" can be used. This is a common and simple method of adjustment, which can be done by both mobile phones and computers.

Take the computer ps as an example, after opening the photo, select "Image"-"adjust"-"hue saturation" to make the adjustment in the picture.

First of all, choose the color we want to adjust, generally "green, yellow", you can see yellow on the left side of green, so slide to the left. Then adjust the saturation and lightness appropriately.

Why choose "yellow", because the green we usually see (such as green grass, green trees) is actually yellow, they have more yellow components and relatively less green components.

(3) to enhance the atmosphere with curves, in addition to yellowing the leaves, some friends also like to make the photos warm yellow as a whole to enhance the autumn atmosphere. There are many ways to achieve this effect. Let's take [Curve] as an example. This tool is very common and can be used by both mobile phones and computers.

After opening the curve, the first step is to select "Blue", and then pull down the curve to see the overall effect. If you are not satisfied, select "Red" again and pull up the curve. Finally, you can choose the "green" curve and try both up and down to see which one looks better.

(4) White balance enhanced atmosphere in addition to post-revision, you can also adjust the camera's white balance during early shooting, setting the white balance to "cloudy / cloudy" mode, which is a cloud icon, and the photos taken at this time will be warm yellow.

(5) optional color adjustment open ps, select "Image-adjust-optional color", select yellow and green respectively, and then make the following adjustments: reduce the value of "cyan", increase the value of "yellow", and then adjust the value of "magenta" as appropriate. You can adjust it repeatedly until you are satisfied.

In principle, green consists of yellow and cyan, and then adding magenta can control the depth of green. When cyan is reduced and yellow is increased, green becomes yellow. At this time, the role of magenta has become to control the degree of reddish / cyan color.
