According to CTOnews.com news on November 26, Tesla officially launched a new version of Model 3 on September 1 this year. After a round of price increases, the current two models of the series start at 261400 yuan and 297400 yuan respectively, and the CLTC can last up to 606km and 713km.

CTOnews.com noted that Tesla has added some new safety features to the updated Model 3 owner's manual, including a function called "active front shield", which is designed to provide more protection for pedestrians and riders in the event of a collision.

Tesla said that when a vehicle collides with a pedestrian or rider, the car will automatically raise the rear of the front cover (hood) by about 80mm, thus increasing the gap between the front cover and the components below it and reducing the risk of casualties.

Tesla said that after the active protective front cover pops up, the touch screen will display an alarm, accompanied by buzzing. As the raised front cover may block part of the driver's field of vision, users need to immediately drive to the nearest Tesla service center or Tesla authorized sheet spray center for maintenance.

The Model 3 is equipped with a pedestrian protection system and an active front cover designed to reduce head injuries to pedestrians and riders in front collisions. By design, when the speed of the Model 3 is between about 30 and 52 km/h, multiple sensors on the front of the vehicle can detect collisions with pedestrians and automatically raise the rear of the front shield by about 80 mm, thus increasing the gap between the front cover and the components below it, reducing the risk of casualties.

After the active protective front cover pops up, the touch screen displays an alarm accompanied by a beep. Immediately drive Model 3 to the nearest Tesla service center or Tesla authorized sheet spray center. After ejecting the active protective front cover, be sure to repair the sensors and actuators related to the active protective front cover.
