Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Nov. 25, Nissan announced plans to launch electric versions of the Qashqai, JUKE and the new Leaf, all of which will be produced at the Sunderland plant in the UK. At the same time, Nissan will build a third super factory in Sunderland.

Nissan's "EV36Zero" manufacturing plan includes the production of three electric cars in the UK, the construction of a third super factory and an investment of 3 billion pounds (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 27 billion yuan).

Car and battery manufacturing will be powered by the EV36Zero microgrid, which will integrate Nissan's wind and solar plants and will be able to provide 100 per cent renewable power to Nissan and its neighboring suppliers.

Prior to the announcement, Nissan confirmed that all new cars in Europe would be powered by pure electric, and expected to have 100% electrification of its passenger car line in Europe by 2030.

Nissan's latest investment includes 1.12 billion pounds (currently about 10.08 billion yuan) in its UK operations and supply chain for the development and manufacture of two new models, including improvements in facilities and manufacturing processes, skills training and supplier tools. Earlier, Nissan announced that it would invest 423 million pounds (currently about 3.807 billion yuan) in the first phase of EV36Zero for the first future electric vehicle.

The two new models, together with an additional super factory and further investment in infrastructure projects, will bring in up to 2 billion pounds.

In addition, the British government has provided 15 million pounds for the 3000 million pounds cooperation project led by Nissan. It will strengthen the technical capabilities and development of zero-emission cars at the Nissan Technology Centre (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, increasing opportunities for additional investment in future vehicle development in the UK.
