LG Electronics today announced organizational change as it continues to move in the direction of its vision for the future of 2030 announced in July. Officials say the changes are implemented to enhance organizational capacity and business competitiveness to achieve the vision of transforming into a smart living solution company, connecting and expanding the spaces and experiences of customers other than home appliances.

A key part of this restructuring strategy is the newly formed overseas sales and marketing company, which will report directly to William Cho, CEO of LG. The company will be led by Thomas Yoon, a former president and CEO of LG Electronics North America.

Overseas sales and marketing companies will manage overseas sales subsidiaries in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia, global marketing groups, and direct consumer (D2C) sales business groups.

LG Electronics said that the company will not only seek to strengthen the execution capacity of overseas operations in strategic key businesses, including B2B business, but will also provide the necessary support by assisting in the development and acceleration of overseas sales expertise, to promote quality growth in all other business units. The D2C Business sales Group will assume the role of expanding customer contact by strengthening online Brand Store (OBS) activities and digital marketing capabilities based on customer data.

In addition, LG Appliances and Air Solutions (Hattora) will establish an engineering sales department under its air solutions business to enhance engineering capabilities to maximize business synergies in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), its core B2B business. The home business will be transferred from home entertainment companies to Hattora to create synergies with the existing product lineup in Home space.

LG Home Entertainment (HE) will further accelerate its transformation into a media and entertainment giant. In order to strengthen the smart TV operating system webOS, a webOS software development team will be set up to report directly to Park Hyoung-sei, president of HE. In addition, the company will also set up an extended reality (XR) division directly under its headquarters.

Vehicle parts Solutions (VS) will set up a global customer strategy department directly at headquarters to establish an integrated order and sales management strategy to strengthen marketing functions and accelerate business growth.

Business Solutions (BS) will expand its sales and business operations in key regions such as North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia. The current B2B Indian Business Department will be upgraded to B2B Indian Business Division to maintain sustained growth in the country.
