First, the mode of service has changed from "holding a card" to "de-card". People can see a doctor and buy medicine by displaying a QR code or facial scanning on their mobile phones, solving the problem of losing cards and forgetting cards that cannot be settled directly with health insurance.

Second, the service scene changes from "single point" to "whole process". The application of the whole process of medical insurance code for medical treatment and drug purchase is one of the key tasks of the medical insurance department this year, promoting the use of medical insurance code from only in the settlement link to the whole process of appointment registration, check-in, diagnosis and treatment examination, report inquiry, pharmacy and so on.

Third, the scope of service has changed from "local" to "national". Medical treatment in different places has always been the "focus" of the masses' attention. with the advantage of cross-regional universal use throughout the country, medical insurance codes help the masses to apply for medical records in different places online, take off cards and settle accounts directly, so that "there is more information and less errands for the masses."

According to the report, so far, the health insurance code has been online for 4 years, with more than 1 billion users nationwide. The 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) and the Xinjiang production and Construction Corps have supported medical insurance codes to seek medical treatment and purchase drugs, and have access to more than 800000 designated medical institutions.

According to the person in charge of National Healthcare Security Administration, from the point of view of the activation of medical insurance codes in various provinces, Zhejiang and Qinghai provinces have taken the lead in realizing the coverage of insured persons in the whole province, and the activation rate of medical insurance codes in more than half of the provinces is more than 75%. At present, there are a total of 234 health insurance code cooperation channels, including Internet platforms such as Alipay and Wechat, bank channels such as Agricultural Bank and China Merchants Bank, and designated pharmaceutical institutions.
