CTOnews.com, November 23 (Xinhua) the medical rehabilitation industry has begun to popularize a variety of robotic technologies, such as new orthoses, robot gloves and gait training exoskeletons, which can help patients return to normal walking ability as soon as possible.

Juneil Park, in collaboration with South Korea's Central University, has designed a simple wearable machine that mimics the natural hip movement of the human body while walking, reducing the energy consumption of patients by 11.6%.

After wearing this set of machines and equipment, patients can help them simulate the movement of the center of gravity of their feet while walking, and reduce the force needed by the wearer.

The team believes that human gait involves not only the sagittal plane (sagittal), but also the transverse (transverse) and frontal plane (frontal planes).

At present, the mainstream gait training equipment does not take lateral (transverse) into account. In the test conducted by Central University, the robot can reduce the energy consumption during walking by up to 11.6%. It is very useful for the elderly and the disabled, and can also shorten the recovery time after operation.
