CTOnews.com, November 23, the official website of Hyundai Motor issued a press release announcing that the IONIQ5N, the first mass-produced high-performance electric vehicle of its N brand, will be officially introduced to China in 2024, becoming the second model of the N brand to be introduced to China.

The new car is based on E-GMP, a platform dedicated to pure electric vehicles, and can be seen as a high-performance version of IONIQ 5, with an overseas price of about 7600 million won (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 416000 yuan).

This is the first high-performance electric vehicle of Hyundai N brand, based on 800V platform, supporting 350kW fast charging, using four-wheel drive system, 84kWh battery, EV special thermal management control system and other high-performance electric vehicle special technology, front and rear dual motor, maximum horsepower 610 horsepower, maximum torque 740Nm, open N Grin Boost mode can release to 650hose, 3.4s break 100, the highest speed 260km/h. In addition, the new car supports 11 levels of adjustable front and rear torque distribution, with drift optimizer function.

The appearance of the IONIQ 5N is also very different from the normal version, lower and wider, with an increase in 80mm length and a 50mm width, and the front bumper has been redesigned to give a more track-style appearance, with an active intake grille to cool the brakes.

Wing spoilers, diffusers and air outlets are also added to the rear top of the new car to optimize airflow and aerodynamics.

In terms of interior decoration, the central control uses a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a central control screen dual screen design, while the central control screen still retains a lot of physical buttons and knobs, using a shield design, and a new bucket seat and custom steering wheel are added to the car.

In addition, the IONIQ 5N also simulates the gearbox and engine sounds of traditional gasoline cars, and there are actual vibrations when shifting gears to enhance driving fun. The seat uses an integrated sports seat, and after putting down the second row of seats, the trunk is more regular.

The braking system of the IONIQ 5N has also been significantly improved to cope with the track scene. Hyundai combines its kinetic energy recovery system with a hydraulic braking system, which provides 40-50% of the braking force on the track and 80-90% on the road.

In addition, it also uses a variety of special configurations, such as the "N pedal" that uses the regenerative brake to help cross the corner, the "N drift Optimizer" that helps to drift smoothly, and the "N Talk Distribution" that the driver can directly distribute the front and rear wheel drive power to provide excellent turning performance.

At the same time, it is equipped with a "N battery preset" to preheat / cool the battery, and a cutting-edge battery thermal management system such as "N Race" to control the battery temperature for optimal performance on the track, which can maintain performance even in harsh track driving conditions.

Hyundai uses the virtual transmission system "N-Shift" on the IONIQ5N to make drivers feel like driving high-performance fuel-fueled cars.

The IONIQ 5N is powered by a 84kWh battery and is expected to have a range of 200-220km (CTOnews.com). Thanks to the 800V architecture, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes.
