During the trial of Epic's lawsuit against Google, Tim Sweeney, Epic Games chief executive, confirmed that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft each charged a 30 per cent commission for Fortnite games.

The 30% commission is fixed on all platforms, which is a bit of a surprise for a "Fortnite" head game.

Fortnite was one of the highest-paid video games on PlayStation in 2018, with cumulative revenue of about $5 billion that year (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 35.8 billion yuan), and Fortnite now generates billions of dollars a year for Epic Games.

Such head games are bound to have higher bargaining power, such as reducing the platform commission to 20%. Take Activision's call of Duty, for example, with a 8:2 cut on Xbox.
