CTOnews.com, Nov. 23-Boeing has announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved it to begin certified flight testing of the 737 MAX 10. Boeing shares rose 1.1 per cent in midday trading.

It is the largest of the company's best-selling 737 MAX series of jets and is intended to take the top spot in the narrow-body market.

▲ Touyuan: Mike Fleming (Mike Fleming), Boeing's vice president of commercial aircraft development programs, said, "this is an important milestone and we are working to certify the 737-10 to enter the passenger services of global operators."

Authorization checks usually represent the start of the certification process and proof that FAA considers it feasible after reviewing its technical data. This milestone allows FAA pilots to participate in flight tests to prove that the aircraft is operational.

The Boeing 737 MAX 10 is the answer paper submitted by Boeing against Airbus A321neo, which previously had the upper hand in the battle with Boeing's MAX 9 for the lucrative single-aisle aircraft market.

Boeing executives said in October that the timing of the MAX 10 was still planned and that the aircraft was scheduled to be certified and delivered in 2024. "Security will determine the certification time of MAX 10," FAA said in a confirmation statement.

So far, MAX 10 has completed more than 400 flights and nearly 1000 flight hours in Boeing's test plan.

In addition, the smallest of Boeing's MAX 7-737 MAX series is still awaiting FAA certification and is expected to be available by the end of 2023. The company announced in July that the first delivery would be postponed from this year to 2024. CTOnews.com is provided with a list of parameters of each model:
