CTOnews.com, November 22 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Google launched a privacy sandboxie feature to replace third-party Cookie in September and released a developer email a few days ago, claiming that it will phase out third-party Cookie in Chrome browsers.

CTOnews.com learned from Google's mailing list that Google plans to remove 1 per cent of third-party Cookie in the first quarter of next year and will then negotiate with CMA in the UK to remove more third-party Cookie in the third quarter of next year.

HTTP Cookie is divided into the first party Cookie and the third party Cookie. The first party Cookie is that when the user visits the website using the browser, the website generates all kinds of data stored on the user equipment, which is convenient for the website to provide different content for different users.

The third-party Cookie is the data generated by the third-party content / advertisements embedded in these websites in the user equipment when the user visits the website. These data can be used to track user behavior, often used in online advertising marketing, and damage user privacy. Both Apple's Safari browser and Mozilla's Firefox Firefox browser have "blocked" third-party Cookie by default.

However, Google has been reluctant to completely block third-party Cookie because third-party Cookie helps advertisers track users, and Google hopes to find a "balance" between privacy and advertising benefits.

So it wasn't until September this year that Google launched a feature called Privacy sandboxie, which claims that it can use different API and technologies to protect users' privacy, reduce cross-site tracking, and "promote the development of personalized advertising while ensuring users' privacy."
