In September 2023, 33.277 million mobile phones were shipped in the domestic market, an increase of 59.0% over the same period last year, of which 28.717 million were 5G phones, up 90.1% from the same period last year, accounting for 86.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

CTOnews.com noted that from January to September 2023, total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market totaled 2.0 billion units, an increase of 2.2% over the same period last year, of which 162m 5G phones were shipped, up 5.5% from the same period last year, accounting for 80.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In September 2023, 42 new models of mobile phones were launched in China, an increase of 23.5% over the same period last year, of which 20 were 5G phones, an increase of 33.3% over the same period last year, accounting for 47.6% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.

From January to September 2023, there were a total of 335 new models on the market, an increase of 9.8 percent over the same period last year, of which 153 5G phones were down 1.9 percent from the same period last year, accounting for 45.7 percent of the total number of new models on the market in the same period.

In September 2023, 24.946 million domestic brand mobile phones were shipped, an increase of 36.1% over the same period last year, accounting for 75.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. 41 new models were on the market, an increase of 36.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 97.6% of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period.

From January to September 2023, domestic brand mobile phones shipped a total of 163 million units, down 3.9% from the same period last year, accounting for 81.4% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. A total of 307 new models were on the market, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year, accounting for 91.6% of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period.

In September 2023, 31.934 million smartphones were shipped, an increase of 60.9% over the same period last year, accounting for 96.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to September 2023, smartphones shipped 192 million units, an increase of 0.3% over the same period last year, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

In September 2023, 32 new models of smartphones were launched, an increase of 14.3% over the same period last year, accounting for 76.2% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. From January to September 2023, a total of 279 new models of smartphones were launched, an increase of 8.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 83.3% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.
