Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, November 22, according to foreign science and technology media The Information, in the necessary injury report submitted by Tesla to the US Department of Safety and Health (OSHA), one out of every 21 employees was injured in 2022.

Photo Source: Tesla's report also mentioned a security incident in 2021 in which an engineer approached a robotic arm that was supposed to be closed and was caught and nailed to the wall by a machine performing its programming actions.

An eyewitness said the engineer's back and arm were bleeding and the subsequent injury was stopped only after someone pressed the emergency stop button.

In August 2022, a worker's ankle was caught in a cart, resulting in 127 days of work-related injury rest. A few days later, another worker suffered a head injury, causing him to rest for 85 days.

The report also mentioned an explosion in a metal casting area in 2023, resulting in a concussion in which a worker was injured.

It is said that the explosion was caused by accidental water intake into the molten aluminum press. An eyewitness who saw the surveillance video said the explosion fired a fireball and smoke, damaged the mold and crimped a door that sealed the room.

It is not clear whether Tesla reported the matter to the OSHA, and the OSHA reportedly did not inspect the incident.

Another worker claimed that the molding machine was not properly sealed and often spit out molten metal. When workers came up with a solution to the problem, they were reprimanded that shutting it down would slow down production.

There is also a lack of perfect protection inside the factory in Tesla, where some metal pieces fell on employees while the contractor was installing a metal grille, causing fractures and punctured lungs. OSHA examined the incident and fined the contractor.

CTOnews.com quoted the media as saying that this was not the only incident in which air-conditioning pipes, steel beams and other building materials fell and injured people.

Tesla's superfactory in Austin opened in April 2022, and employees described the company as having a "superhard core" work culture that led them to experience long working hours, unsafe working conditions, harassment, and so on.
