Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) it is well known that Japanese automakers are one of the biggest laggards as the industry shifts to electric cars. Japanese automakers are scrambling to avoid being squeezed out of the market by Chinese electric cars, Asianet reported.

According to the report, Honda rarely carried out significant price cuts or promotions in the past, but now Nissan and Honda are cutting prices in Thailand and cutting interest rates to 0% to attract buyers. Hideo Kawasaka, chief executive of Honda (Thailand), said that sales promotion has become necessary under the fierce competition of electric car sales in China.

Hideo Kawasaka added: "We are aware that competition with Chinese brands has affected the C and D segments (Honda Civic and Accord). Before coming to Thailand, I worked in Honda China for five years, where we had to compete with Changan or BYD. I must admit that the price will affect competitiveness. Price adjustment must be carefully considered, and we will offer preferential activities such as 0% interest plus free insurance at the end of this year. "

Honda is carrying out "substantial promotions" on City, Civic, HR-V and Accord models. Buyers can choose between 0 per cent interest or a discount of 100000 to 150000 baht (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 20400 to 30600 yuan), starting from 1.89 per cent. The third option is a low down payment of 5000 baht (currently about 1020 yuan).

Other Japanese carmakers, including Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Suzuki, also plan to offer 0% interest or discount options in Thailand. These offers will be announced at the Auto Expo and will last until the end of this year.
