According to Horizon, the Expedition 6 series chip is the industry's first series of on-board intelligent computing solutions that cover full-scale smart driving requirements from low to high. It is based on the latest BPU Nash computing architecture developed by Horizon itself.

The Expedition 6 series will be officially launched in April 2024, and the first mass production models are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024.

At the scene of the auto show, BYD's representative attended the platform and said that BYD, as the first batch of mass production intention cooperative car companies in the 6 series, will join hands with the horizon to continue to start a new stage of smart driving development based on the real needs of users.

As a dominant starter in the domestic car smart chip market, BYD reached a comprehensive mass production cooperation plan with it early on.

As early as March 2021, the two sides officially launched strategic cooperation.

In April 2022, BYD also announced a fixed-point cooperation project with Horizon 5 chip, which plans to use the chip to build an integrated travel and berth scheme to mass-produce high-level smart cars.

During the Shanghai Auto Show in April this year, the two sides also announced the progress of cooperation based on Journey 5, and the Han EV championship version was also displayed on the horizon as a BYD "intelligent representative" model.

In the past three years, the two sides have reached a platform cooperation based on the journey series chips, realizing the mass production and landing of a number of intelligent models, and a number of new cars are ready to start. For example, the BYD Teng Teng N7, which has hit the market this year, is based on the Horizon Journey 3 chip, comes standard with L2-level driving assistance, and has cruise functions such as LCC, turning on lights and changing lanes.

With the opening of the intelligent second half, obvious changes have taken place in the industry, the role of the digital base of vehicle chips is becoming more and more prominent, and the importance of vehicle chip manufacturers is growing day by day.

How to start a new stage of smart driving development on this basis?

As the only automobile group with full price layout in China, BYD's smart driving development products are rich and functionally differentiated, so conventional on-board chips are difficult to fully meet the needs of BYD's unified digital base.

At the same time, BYD believes that intelligent driving product design should focus on ensuring safety, reducing or even putting an end to traffic accidents, reducing casualties and saving lives.

Therefore, the journey 6 series, which is based on the unified computing architecture and covers the needs of full-class intelligent driving and mass production development, is expected to become the common choice of BYD's multi-product line and make its products occupy a favorable position in the increasingly fierce high-level intelligent driving competition. to create a truly reliable intelligent driving function that can be used.

The continuous and in-depth cooperation with the horizon may become a major thrust for BYD to move from victory in the first half to victory in the second half.
