CTOnews.com November 20, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology announced that the joint cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Shri Narendra Modi) approved the IT hardware incentive Program (PLI) 2.0 on May 17, 2023, covering laptops, tablets, all-in-one computers, servers and ultra-small devices.

It is understood that the PLI plan has approved applications from 27 IT hardware manufacturers, including Acer, Asustek, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo and other well-known brands. During the validity period of the plan, the expected results of this approval are as follows:

About 200000 jobs: about 50, 000 direct employment, about 150000 indirect employment

IT hardware output value: $42 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 303.24 billion yuan)

Inbound investment: 360 million US dollars (currently about 2.599 billion yuan)

The plan will allocate about $2 billion over six years, and participants must set up local production facilities.
