Before Android 14, users could see notifications from the app simply by pressing a long icon on the desktop or in the app list. If there are multiple notifications, only one full notification will be displayed, along with a counter in the corner. Users can either open the notification directly or swipe to delete it. This feature is useful for users who have a variety of message reminders in the notification bar, and it goes well with notification dots.

In Android 14 systems, long-pressing icons only show application shortcuts, as well as application information, pause applications, and widgets.

In fact, this change occurred during the beta version of Android 14. In August, Google said it was deliberate and "will not fix it".
