CTOnews.com, Nov. 20 (Xinhua)-- Rokid, a domestic AR smart glasses company invested by Temasek, raised $112 million at a valuation of $1 billion to expand overseas.

Rokid was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Hangzhou. New investors include Chinese online games and education service provider Wanglong Network Software Holdings Co., Ltd. Rokid, which has so far raised nearly $200m (CTOnews.com Note: about RMB 1.444 billion), says it will explore the use of AR in education and expects its overseas revenue to exceed domestic revenue in 2024.

Currently, Rokid is developing hardware and software products such as AR glasses and YodaOS operating system. Through research on speech recognition, natural language processing, optical display, semiconductor platform and hardware design, Rokid has developed a range of augmented reality (AR) solutions for consumer and business customers, including Rokid Max AR glasses and Rokid Station. So far, the company's products have been sold and used in more than 80 countries and regions around the world.
