CTOnews.com November 20, Samsung announced in a press release that it has provided the world's first 481ft LED signage system for the US Formula one (F1) Las Vegas Grand Prix.
As can be seen from the picture, Samsung installed a LED sign in the shape of the F1 logo on the roof of the 1000-foot-long F1 circuit building.
According to reports, the 10mm Samsung LED display at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix has more than 2200 megapixels, a span wider than a football field, and a maximum brightness of more than 8000 nits.
CTOnews.com noted that in addition to the Samsung LED sign of the F1 logo, the company also provided LED signs on the exterior walls of the F1 building, grandstands, stadium entrances and many parts of the track, with three 941sq ft Samsung 8mm LED displays with more than 1.2 million pixels.
Samsung provided a total of 25000 LED modules for the system, which, when combined, are enough to circle the Las Vegas Strip track two and a half times. Renee Wilm, CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, said: "through our cooperation, we are using the innovative technology that Samsung has brought to the Las Vegas Strip track to achieve this goal."
