Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, November 20 (Xinhua)-- HandBrake 1.7.0, an open source video transcoding tool, has been released, which adds support for hardware-accelerated AV1 transcoding on AMD and Nvidia's latest GPU.
Currently, HandBrake 1.7.0 supports hardware accelerated AV1 transcoding on all modern GPU, including AMD, Nvidia, and Intel.
In addition, the new version of HandBrake has quadrupled the performance of SVT-AV1 coding through CPU optimization and is suitable for Apple Silicon-based Mac computers.
▲ image source: open Media Alliance, HandBrake starting with version 1.7.0, HandBrake officially supports the VCN AV1 encoder used by the AMD Radeon 7000 Series GPU (RDNA 3) and the eighth generation NVENC encoder built into the GeForce 40 Series GPU (Ada Lovelace).
In the previous version, HandBrake 1.6.0 has also added support for Intel Xe AV1 encoders (Xe and Arc GPU).
So it can be said that HandBrake has fully adapted all the hardware accelerated AV1 encoders on modern GPU except those integrated into Apple Silicon processors.
Update announcement attached to CTOnews.com:
Apple VideoToolbox hardware presets are generally added
Updated Creator preset
-- interleaving detection and deletion are disabled; assume that the creator is using the default settings of the progressive source
Updated social preset
-optimized for targets with higher quality and frame rate, but without interleaving detection and deletion
-more suitable for modern social media to share short clips and screen / game capture
Remove email presets and use revised social presets instead
-- Please stop emailing videos or using new social presets
