According to people familiar with the matter, OpenAI investors are pressuring the board to rescind its decision to fire Altman CEO and dismiss him as a director, Bloomberg reported.

The negotiations were not made public and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Thrive is expected to lead a takeover of staff shares, but has not yet remitted funds and has made it clear to OpenAI that Altman's departure will affect his actions. Thrive, the largest OpenAI investor after Microsoft, is working to restore Altman and president Greg Brockmann.

Sam attended a Google Meet meeting and the whole board of directors was present except Greg. Elijah told Sam that he would be fired, and the news would soon get out.

At 12:23, Elijah sent a Google Meet link. Greg was told that he would be removed from the board (but he was vital to the company and would retain his position) and that Sam had been fired. At about the same time, OpenAI published a blog post.
