CTOnews.com, November 18, Process Lasso application developer Bitsum recently launched a new thread scheduling application called CoreDirector, which gives users better control of the 12th, 13th and 14th generation Kerry processor cores.

Using this application, users can manually control the operation mode of the specified application and game, and can flexibly match E core and P core, so as to achieve a running experience that is more suitable for their own needs.

At present, there are three core enforcement methods for the software, including Efficiency Mode OFF, CPU Affinities and CPU sets,CTOnews.com. The differences are as follows:

Efficiency Mode OFFEfficiency Mode OFF uses software to restrain the use of E-core for thread scheduling. If the application program especially needs E-core or needs more threads than P-core can provide, E-core is still allowed.

CPU Affinities restricts all threads to the P core unless the application intentionally requests to run on the E core.

CPU setsCPU sets is a less strict enforcement method, somewhere in between the other two, leaving a lot of decisions to the operating system.

CoreDirector is not intended to replace Process Lasso, but it is clearly intended to provide simpler, more approachable applications for novice users.

Bitsum specifically stated that the company recommended that users use its more powerful Process Lasso software to control the E kernel, but said they had provided CoreDirector to the community.
