CTOnews.com, Nov. 18, OpenAI's board of directors issued an official announcement on Friday announcing that Sam Altman (Sam Altman) will resign as CEO and leave the board, to be replaced by technology director Mira Murati Murati, effective immediately.

OpenAI's board of directors said in a blog post that the "review process" concluded that Altman had not been consistent and honest with the board in his communication with the board, hampering the board's ability to perform its duties.

OpenAI's board said: "the board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue to lead OpenAI."

OpenAI's board includes chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, as well as Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo, technology entrepreneur Tasha McCauley and Georgetown Center for Security and emerging Technology Helen Toner and other independent directors.

OpenAI said in a blog post that under clause 501 (c) (3), the board of directors has the right to manage all OpenAI activities.

The board also said that OpenAI president Greg Brockmann (Greg Brockman) "will resign as chairman of the board and will continue to serve as the company, reporting to the chief executive."

Sam Altman admitted in an article in X on Friday that he would leave OpenAI, but did not mention any charges against him by the company's board of directors.
