CTOnews.com, November 16 (Xinhua)-- Panasonic, which has decades of experience in making durable devices, today launched the Toughbook 55 Mk3, a semi-rugged laptop (semi rugged laptop) running Intel's latest processor. The price of the laptop has not been announced, but it can be bought from today.

The Toughbook 55 notebook was first launched in 2019 and is now in its third generation. The Toughbook 55 Mk3 is powered by the 13th generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, and also supports the new Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.3. It features a 14-inch FHD screen (up to 1000 nits), upto 2 TB user-upgradable SSD, 92 dB speakers and dual-array microphones, and supports MIL-STD-810H and IP53 protection levels.

Panasonic Toughbook 55 Mk3 adds a customizable color keyboard, four preset colors for users to customize, and programmable buttons for assigning shortcuts.

CTOnews.com notes that the total number of USB ports for new laptops has increased to five, providing better connectivity. Like some other Panasonic laptops, the Toughbook 55 Mk3 supports xPAKs, an upgradeable extension area for connecting accessories such as smart card readers, and the new USB-C and USB-A xPAKs will be launched in February 2024.

Panasonic's xPAK strategy also makes laptops modular, allowing customers to replace batteries, memory, storage and other components with just one screwdriver, and the Toughbook 55 Mk3 has seven user-replaceable modular areas that make it easier to upgrade and service.
