Previously, Attingo General Manager Markus H ä fele said in an interview that these hard drives have hardware problems. "there are weaknesses in its design and structure, there are problems in the whole soldering process of the solid state hard drive, and the components on the hard drive must be welded to the circuit board, but the welding materials used by SanDisk will produce bubbles."

Today, however, SanDisk admitted that there was something wrong with the hard drives, but denied that they had a "hardware problem":

Western Digital has previously acknowledged problems with SanDisk's Extreme mobile hard drives, such as sudden erasure and unreadability, saying the problem occurred on a batch of hard drives that were mass-produced at the end of 2022 and mainly affected 4TB models. Subsequently, the official release of firmware updates to address its SanDisk Extreme and Extreme Pro SSD reliability issues.

But in August this year, foreign science and technology media, such as The Verge and PetaPixel, reported that Western Digital sent firmware updates to SanDisk Extreme V2 and Extreme Pro V2 of 2TB and 4TB models, instead of curbing the problem, more models were affected.
