In 2010, the China Satellite Navigation system Management Office, in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, applied for Beidou to enter the ICAO standard at the 37th ICAO Congress, and jointly organized Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and other industry-university-research units to form a working team to promote related work.

In 2020, at the sixth plenary meeting of the ICAO Navigation Systems expert Group, the technical verification of all 189 performance indicators was passed, marking the successful completion of the core and main task of Beidou's entry into the ICAO standard, indicating that Beidou's ability to provide services for the global civil aviation field has been internationally recognized, and laid a solid foundation for comprehensively promoting Beidou aviation application.

Over the past decade, after 28 working meetings, more than 50 technical discussions, submitting more than 100 technical documents, and answering more than 2000 questions, after ICAO technical expert group review, air navigation committee review and board consideration, Beidou system standards and proposed measures have successfully joined the ICAO standard. Beidou system successfully passed the relevant technical verification of ICAO, and further verified the global service capability of Beidou system.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, the first China surveying and Mapping Geographic Information Conference ended on November 10 in Deqing, Zhejiang Province, and released the "China Geographic Information Industry Development report" and the "China Beidou Industry Development Index report".

At present, the application scale of Beidou terminal is up to tens of millions of magnitude, and Beidou positioning and navigation is used by tens of millions of users and hundreds of millions of users every day.

In addition to smartphones, more than one million sets of Beidou terminals are used in 9 provinces, and more than 1.85 million sets are used in Jiangsu Province.

More than one million sets are used in four industries, and nearly 8.2 million sets are used in the largest transportation industry.

Beidou products are used in more than half of the countries and regions in the world, and the application fields are constantly expanding.

As of the first half of this year, the comprehensive development index of Beidou industry in China was 1312 points, an increase of more than 424% compared with the 250 points in the first year of Beidou industry in 2013.

As of the first half of this year, the total application of various types of Beidou terminal equipment in China was close to 23 million units per set, an increase of 46.93 percent over the same period last year.

The permeability of Beidou application is more than 50%.
