CTOnews.com, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) companies can now buy a security robot from Amazon to patrol their businesses. But this thing looks only a little taller than a sweeping robot and feels more like a Wall-E than a Terminator.

Amazon today launched the Astro for Business, a $2349.99 robot that can move on its own or through a remote control (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 17084 yuan).

Of these, the $99-a-month Virtual Security Guard subscription service allows robots to notify Ring's quick-response agent after detecting strangers, strange sounds or other suspicious activity, but customers must subscribe to two other services, Ring Protect Pro and Astro Secure, which charge $20 and $60 a month, respectively.

Ring Protect Pro allows users to save device videos for up to 180 days and synchronize with Ring's motion sensors and alarms. Astro Secure allows robots to patrol independently and move along a user-defined route. Astro can also send an alert to the user and automatically go to the triggered sensor to see what's going on.

Amazon launched a similar robot for the home, the Astro for Home, last year, which can still be bought by invitation for $1599.99.
