CTOnews.com November 15, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on the X platform that it will suspend the registration of new ChatGPT Plus users. "the surge in usage in the future is more than we can afford, and we want to make sure everyone has a good experience."

According to a report released by Writerbuddy.ai, the top 50 AI tools have been visited 24 billion times in 10 months, of which ChatGPT has reached an astonishing 14 billion times, accounting for more than 60%, with an average of 1.5 billion visits per month.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, OpenAI held its first developer conference DevDay on November 7, at which the company unveiled a new AI product, GPTs, which allows developers and companies to customize ChatGPT to meet their specific needs and services. The company also launched a preview of its GPT-4 Turbo model, with a 128k context window, which OpenAI said would enable it to accept the equivalent of 300 pages of individual text prompts. It will also be faster than the current GPT-4 chat robot, while reducing the running cost to half.

At present, the number of ChatGPT's weekly active users has exceeded 100 million. More than 92 per cent of Fortune 500 companies are already using its platform, up from 80 per cent in August, covering sectors such as financial services, legal applications and education, OpenAI said.
