Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com November 15 news, Google released a report this week, warning that a group of hackers put fake Bard AI assistant advertisements on major platforms.

After clicking on a false advertisement, the victim will be redirected to a phishing site and then directed to install malware. Google does not know the true identity of the hackers, but speculates from the IP address that the hackers may be in Vietnam.

▲ source Google claims that the hackers set up "fake" fan pages under the names of Google AI, AIGoogle, AiGoogle, AIGoogle.Plus, AIGoogleBard FB and AIGoogleBard on platforms such as Facebook, and a number of phishing sites using domain names such as bard-ai.info and g-bard-ai.com, and claimed through false advertisements that these sites "can be downloaded free of charge by users."

▲ although Google's Bard AI service is indeed free, this "free wording" will still usher in a group of unknown victims who will be guided to install malicious AI clients with Trojans after visiting phishing sites.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the Trojans will steal users' social media account passwords, then take over the victim's social media account, and then use these accounts to spread more malicious ads.

Google has asked a group of social media to remove the ads about 300 times since April, and Halimah DeLaine Prado, Google's legal officer, said they had taken formal legal action against the hackers and would stop them from continuing to use Bard AI's taboo to commit fraud.

But apart from Bard, the AI chat service now in the tuyere has long been coveted by hackers. Earlier this year, Meta reported that there were at least 10 malware disguised as ChatGPT or similar AI tools on the market, and claimed to have blocked more than 1000 fake ChatGPT fraudulent websites.
