CTOnews.com, November 15 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft officially launched Windows 11 23H2, the "big update" version of Windows 11, earlier this month, and the company is preparing to say goodbye to the previous 22H2 version.

Microsoft hopes that those who are still using the 22H2 version will switch to the new 23H2 version of Windows 11 as soon as possible. In the latest 22H2 support post, Microsoft announced that Win11 22H2 will no longer have optional non-security optional updates after February 27, 2024. Supported versions of Win11 22H2 will then only provide cumulative security updates.

▲ source although Microsoft's non-security optional update for Win 11 22H2 will end, users who stay in this version of the operating system will still get a security update for at least a few months. The lifecycle page for Windows 11 shows that the final security update for 22H2 will not end until October 8, 2024, while the end date for 23H2 support will not end until November 11, 2025.
