A few days ago, "China Telecom 5GNTN Technology White Paper" was officially released at the 2023 Digital Technology Ecology Conference "Satellite Mobile Communications Industry Development Forum", which will provide technical support for the follow-up development of the application of 5G non-terrestrial network (NTN). It is reported that the white paper was jointly collated and released by China Telecom, ZTE and other industry partners. Based on the "integration of heaven and earth" existing network test, for the first time in China, the important viewpoints of 5GNTN non-terrestrial network + 4amp 5G mobile network + Internet of things converged network architecture, 3GPP standard protocol tailoring and mobile phone direct connection evolution route were put forward.

The future 5GNTN technology will be based on three-dimensional space configuration, with voice, SMS, Internet of things, social and video multimedia and other services to serve key industries and consumer groups. The white paper puts forward the prediction and layout suggestions for key applications such as mobile phone directly connected satellite, automobile direct connected satellite, satellite Internet of things, etc., and analyzes the situation of China's 5GNTN industry from the aspects of satellite manufacturing, satellite launch, satellite operation, ground equipment, terminal technology, standard system, etc.

The white paper focuses on mobile directly connected satellites, automobile directly connected satellites and other application scenarios. On the basis of summarizing the current situation of industrial ecological development of 5GNTN technology at home and abroad, the application prospects, market demand and technical indicators of each scenario are analyzed in depth, so as to provide guidance for the industrial application of 5GNTN. In the mobile phone direct connection scenario, the white paper proposes that the sky, sea and other ground networks covering blind areas of emergency communication services have a broad market space.
