CTOnews.com news on November 14, according to Jibang Consulting report, the DDR3 memory market has rebounded recently, rising by more than 10%. The agency expects contract prices to rise by 10% to 15% in the fourth quarter of 2023 and maintain an upward trend in the first quarter of next year.

Industry insiders believe that the most direct factor in the rebound of DDR3 memory is that Samsung, SK Hynix and Meguiar and other global leaders continue to reduce production, by shrinking capacity, strict control of shipments, so as to achieve the goal of price increases.

Another major reason is that companies such as Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron are actively dabbling in artificial intelligence applications, shifting their main production capacity to producing high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and DDR5 memory, causing a shortage of DDR3 supplies.

TrendForce Group Consulting said DDR3 prices had been rising steadily since September. DDR3 4Gb is up nearly 10 per cent, while DDR3 2Gb is up 14 per cent; in terms of contract prices, it expects contract prices to rise strongly by 10 to 15 per cent this quarter, continues to strengthen in the first quarter of next year, and is likely to rise another 5 to 10 per cent in the future.

DDR3 related companies are optimistic about the development of the market. Yuchuang believes that with inventory digestion coming to an end and the "cyclical bottom is over", the company is gradually welcoming the dawn of recovery, and the company is optimistic about the significant growth of the global DRAM market next year.
