From November 7 to 12, the 2023 "Weilai Cup" China University Student Electric Formula Competition (FSEC) & "Weilai Cup" Chinese University Student self-driving Formula Competition (FSAC) was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. A total of 77 electric teams and 31 unmanned teams signed up for the race, with nearly 4000 people participating in the race. After a fierce competition, Jilin University Jisu Electric Formula team won the FSEC championship, Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) GW-HRT team won the FSAC championship.

Static races include design reports, business reports and cost reports, and dynamic races include linear acceleration, eight-character loop, high-speed obstacle avoidance, durability and efficiency tests. FSEC mainly tests the students' knowledge of automotive engineering and the ability of comprehensive design simulation. With the topic of "independently developing and designing the complete vehicle electrical system assembly", FSEC aims to explore the competitor team with the design and management ability of the forward development of Formula Racing project.

The "Weilai Cup" Chinese University Student self-driving Formula Competition (FSAC) is also divided into static and dynamic races. Static races include design reports and unmanned system design reports, and dynamic races include linear acceleration, eight-character winding, maneuverability testing and high-speed tracking. FSAC specializes in the field of self-driving, covering complex and precise contents such as vehicle construction and principle, design and simulation, operation and debugging of vehicle electrical system, construction of safety architecture of self-driving system, compilation and testing of various algorithms of self-driving, etc.

Ma Ning from Beijing Institute of Technology self-driving Formula one team led the team to participate in the race for the eighth time this year. In 2016, as an undergraduate, he joined the then-start-up Beijing Institute of Technology driverless racing team, and competed in the German Formula one, and then was hired by the college as the team's professional and technical instructor. Over the past eight years, he has personally witnessed the development and changes of the competition and the impact of electric cars, self-driving and other technologies on the professional construction of colleges and universities.
