CTOnews.com, November 13 (Xinhua)-- Samsung Electronics Q3 accounts for more than 80 percent of South Korea's smartphone market amid declining demand for high-end models, according to industry data released by Counterpoint Research on Monday.

Between July and September this year, South Korea sold about 3.4 million smartphones, down 10 per cent from the same period last year, according to data.

Among them, Samsung mobile phones firmly dominate, accounting for 84% of total sales, mainly due to the popularity of its new folding screen phones Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5.

It was followed by Apple, whose market share increased by 2 percentage points to 15 per cent over the three-month period, although the iPhone 15 was relatively late.

All but these two are basically Others, with a combined market share of 1 per cent.
