CTOnews.com November 13, Intel launched a new 14th-generation Core CPU in October and brought a new Intel Application Optimization (Application Optimization) feature to further improve the frame rate of PC games.

@ ghost_motley found that MSI has begun to introduce BIOS updates, adding support for Intel APO technology, which is built into Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), for some old motherboards.

CTOnews.com warns that while most 700 series motherboards can be used with the previous generation of Intel CPU, only some of the 14-generation Core CPU support Intel APO functionality.

Currently, the processors that support APO are limited to i7-14700K, i7-14700KF, i9-14900K and i9-14900KF. It is not clear whether i5 support can be added in the future.

At present, the "Intel Application Optimization" application has been put on Microsoft Microsoft Store, and users who need it can download it by themselves.

According to Intel officials, Intel Application Optimization can identify and manage application resources in real time. This strategy optimizes the thread scheduling of the selected software and improves the performance of supported applications.

Officials also say that the responsiveness of the system may vary depending on configuration and graphics card functions. If the results do not meet expectations, users can disable Intel Application Optimization for all applications or for each application through this software.

Intel said the app also allows users to see which computer games can be optimized. It also provides the option to disable specific games in the list by clicking the "enable / disable individual applications" tab.

In terms of games, the app currently only supports optimization for "Metro: leaving" and "Rainbow 6: siege". Reddit user "LightMoisture" claims that he used the i9-14900K processor to run to 339 FPS in "Metro: go" and 867 FPS in "Rainbow 6: siege".
